Individuals can file complaints or claims to the Central Inspection against administrations falling within its remit, or against the employees or workers of these administrations, for investigation and establishment of facts.
Director of Central Inspection, Georges Attieh, said: "A decision has been made not to cover for any official who is corrupt, who accepts a bribe or who commits any other breach of the law. This will be the foundation for rebuilding the State. Being responsible for reform, accountability and oversight, our performance should live up to this ideal. We must separate the work of oversight and control authorities from politics."
In a TV intervention, Judge Attieh indicated that "civilized countries are those where people are always ready for accountability. There is a need to promote and reinforce the work of oversight authorities, and that of judicial authorities as it is up to the judiciary to establish justice with full independence. Officials and ministers should take their work seriously. We should leverage the current trend of calls to fight squandering and corruption, as this can only be achieved through administrative reform. It is a critical situation for oversight authorities."
